White Teddy Bears

There is no doubt that white teddy bears are lovable items. They are even more popular today thanks to the media frenzy surrounding Knut, the orphaned white polar bear in the Berlin Zoo. Even if you can't have a real white polar bear you can certainly have your own teddy bear that looks just like the real thing. There are all kinds of great teddy bear companies including Steiff, Boyd's Bears and the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. All of these manufacturers make white bears. White bears are cute and delicate and make the perfect backdrop for personalized accessories.


Nowadays, personalized bears are superbly well-known. You can get bears that represent any imaginable occupation, sport, hobby or occasion. This year instead of sending flowers on Valentine's Day, why not send your loved one a teddy bear? There are even wedding bears, anniversary bears and so many more. Because these bears can get expensive, it is important to know how to properly care for them. Although white bears are adorable, they are also sometimes hard to keep clean, especially if they belong to young children.

Compared to brown bears, white bears usually dirty their fingerprints pretty easily. Luckily most teddy bears can be thrown in the washing machine on delicate cycle and laundered. Vermont Teddy Bears can be washed in this way but should not be machine dried as this can damage the fur. If you don't want to use such a drastic cleaning method for your white bear you can spot clean using gentle detergent and water on a damp cloth. When it comes to keeping your white bear clean, prevention is the best course of action.

Before holding or handling a teddy bear, you have to make sure that your hands and your kids', too, are clean. This will keep your bear looking clean and beautiful. If you have more questions about how to clean and care for your teddy bears, check with the manufacturer. Different bears may have different care requirements depending on what they are crafted from. For example, some bears can be machine washed and others can only be hand washed. As a rule of thumb use the most gentle cleaning method possible on teddy bears so they will stay intact longer.
